You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them. Psalm 89:9 NIV

The Bravest Warrior

We sat there on the edges of our seats, all the males of the home, eyes glued to the television. Jumping as high as possible, arms fully extended, the athletes reached for the bar in the sky. Swaying back and forth, they maneuvered from obstacle to obstacle as they engaged intense upper and core body strength. Their nerves were steele, focus unwavering, and bodies extensively trained. Seeming to overcome the impossible, victors received acclaim as they climbed the final obstacle to end the course. Personally I had never seen a show quite like this one, my kids were already dedicated fans. City by city, this competition traveled throughout the country to find the most dedicated and determined ninja warrior. All our eyes met in unison, words unnecessary as we sat agreeing in awe.

What would it take to have incredible strength like these men and women? Showing the backstory on each participant, it became apparent rather quickly that these individuals had spent a considerable amount of time, energy, and resources to get to this stage in their abilities. Interestingly enough, there was one common thread through every story, each competitor had a coach, someone to help them grow as a warrior.

Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: “I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people. I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him. My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him. The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.
Psalm 89:19-23 NIV

There is One who is the ultimate champion, and He reigns victorious through each and every battle. His name is Jesus, and He is the bravest warrior to ever walk the planet. Facing sin, death, and the devil, Christ the King conquered every obstacle that was placed before Him. The victory of Jesus Christ on the cross glorified God the Father and provided the way for your salvation and redemption. In Jesus Christ, you too can overcome.
